Edible Production

Himalayan Salt Manufacturing Process

We are proud to tell that in Agro Hub we have a uniquely designed plant for edible salt. Our production of the edible salt is fully automatic which ensures a clean and standard product without any possibility of a human error.

Lamp production is completely separate from the edible salt unit.

Process Steps

Our entire Production unit is monitored through CCTV cameras and each quality control center point has a camera pointed at it for surveillance and tractability purposes. Moreover, all our products have an internal Lot and batch numbers to trace quality control supervisors and quality control officers on the line.

Storing and Dispatching

Step 01

Raw Material Storage

We receive the big chunks of the salt directly from Salt mine in our factory, and our stored in our facility.

Step 02

Quality Control

Why is Himalayan Salt Pink in color?

Since salt is an all-natural product, it might have pieces of stones or dirt in it. We make sure to select the stones without any defects before starting the production.

Step 03

Washing

The big chunks are put inside the plant and are washed with the water coming from the top of the machine. In this way we make sure that the stone is clean and has a shiny look. This is extremely important because it keeps the salt “All natural”. No one in the Himalayan Salt industry is cleaning salt in this manner.

Step 04

Drying

We have installed an oven where the stones are being dried with hot dry air as salt cannot be exposed to humidity. We keep the salt in the stove for 5-6 hours until it is completely dry. Unlike any other factory, where salt is being sun-dried, we have a drying machine which is time-effective, does not depend on climate condition and protects the salt from any environmental impurities.

Step 05

Quality Control Process

After drying, we make sure to check the salt once again to avoid any foreign particles. This is part of our control centre Point 2.

Step 06

Crushing in the Plant

Big salt rocks are crushed in the plant. We put a custom designed sieve to match the customer’s requirement for the mesh size. We can provide any mesh size that is required.

Step 07

Separation

Salt is put on separators screened for any foreign particles. Quality control managers make sure that there is no dirty grain of salt.

Step 08

Packing, Sealing of Bags

We pack and seal the bags and then open and check them. In this process our Quality Assurance team is involved, they are checking the final packed product. Internally we also call it Quality Audit.

Step 09

Metal Detector

We check every bag in the metal detector to make sure there is no foreign particle, including iron.

Step 10

Laboratory Check

The Laboratory conducts the quality assurance process where the product is tested for various parameters including sodium chloride, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, moisture content, water-soluble, mesh size, and iodine level to make sure we send the premium quality product to our customers.

Step 11

Storing and Dispatching

Salt is stored at our warehouse until the final loading.
